Creole Seasoning recipe

Salt free creole seasoning:

  • 5 tsp Garlic

  • 1 tsp Onion

  • 5 tsp Cayenne

  • 1/2 tsp Oregano

  • 1 1/2 tsp Basil

  • 1 1/2 tsp Sage

  • 4 tsp Black pepper

  • 1 Tbsp Chili powder

  • 1 tsp Corn starch

  • 2 tsp Mustard powder

  • 2 1/2 tsp Celery seed

  • 1/2 tsp Thyme


I cook almost every day, and I like to make my own seasonings so I can control how much heat or salt they have in them. Some of our friends and family aren’t spicy food lovers, and I can crank the heat up or down in each seasoning with more or less cayenne pepper. Salt is another variable in our family. I use less salt when I cook and let everyone salt to their own taste. Nothing worse than an over salted dish!
We use this creole seasoning recipe on chicken thighs in the oven or air fryer - some claim it’s a dead ringer for Bojangles seasoning. Toss some on your potato wedges before you roast for a kick of flavor!
