Exuviance Detox Mud Review

Exuviance Detox Mud Review

Hey y'all! This oily girl is going to review some detox mud developed by dermatologists with big promises! You may be asking, do I need clarified and refined pores? To remove debris, toxins and excess oil? Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm always on the lookout for something to keep my pores from getting congested, and charcoal is a personal fave! (Pro tip: if you get charcoal, make sure it's active charcoal!)

The treatment comes in a large bottle that can stand up on your countertop or in your cabinet. Personally, I like tubes that stand up this way, so the product is always ready for squeezing! Plus, it doesn't say anything embarrassing like "blackheads be gone" or "pimple preventer." Why do some products shame us so??

The consistency of this treatment is spot on. The mud has a rich, creamy texture. The thickness allows it to sit on your skin until you have a chance to spread it. The last thing you want is a drippy treatment down your neck and your sink! You could even use it as a spot treatment on problem areas without getting it on the rest of your face because it is so thick. Sometimes I like to mix and match my treatments, and this would definitely stay put in my T-zone. This product is so gentle that I don’t think you necessarily need to avoid any areas with this treatment, but you could definitely do it if you wanted to!

Confession time: I don't really like putting goo on my face...especially dark goo. Those first few swipes are always the hardest for me!

Ok, my whole face is covered. Now what?? Anyone else try not to move their face when they have a mask on?

I decided to do a little check-in at 5 minutes to see how my skin was feeling since it's my first time using this mud. As far as timing goes, I always recommend leaving a new treatment on for either the low end or middle end of the recommended time. After the treatment was on for about 5 minutes, the mud was about half dry, and my skin wasn't complaining in the least, so I decided to let it dry completely. If you have sensitive skin or are nervous about using new products, start with whatever time you're comfortable with! You can always work up to the full time

Here is a little close up showing the coverage this treatment will give you after it dries completely. I'm used to a chunky mud mask, but this treatment was smooth as silk! The mud didn't clump at all. Plus, super bonus: it has a decent smell. Wait has a great smell, actually. My nose has always been prone to blackheads, so skipping my nose is not an option. I was so happy that this mask didn't make me gag when I went to put in on my nose!

The finished product. And ta da! Just like that, I have nice clean pores. This is no small feat! I was totally impressed with how soft and smooth my skin was after this mask!

Don't judge my red marks, I literally just finished scrubbing the mask off. The back of the bottle says not to use your towels because it may stain - I just used a dark brown towel. I don't know if your mornings are as hectic as mine, but I didn't have all morning to hand scrub!

Conclusion? This mask did not disappoint! It actually went above and beyond how I expected it to perform. It's definitely going into the regular rotation! One mask that gives me clean pores, soft skin, and no over-drying? Yes!

To get yours, head on over to the Exuviance website!
